A protective clear coat finish highlights the richness and durability of hot rolled steel. Natural mill scale, welds and grinder marks make each one unique in its own way.

Hot rolled steel has a very characteristic dark blue-grey mill scale oxide finish that is a result of the manufacturing process at the steel mill. The cooling process at the steel mill allows the metal to oxidize, producing a steel sheet that is blue-gray color towards the edges and dark gray towards the center. Similar to wood grain, marble or granite, each steel sheet is different.

Glorious Craftsmanship

I ordered this piece and it is the exact one shown in the pictures. The piece came delivered very well packed on one standard pallet. White glove delivery service was on point. The ability to put this together was simple enough although it should be noted that the piece fully assembled is heavy; close to 500 pound heavy. The clearance height (4") is perfect for a low clearance hydraulic automobile jack and thus can be lifted to allow for standard hardwood moving dolly's to be placed under and wheeled about as needed.

The craftmanship is noteworthy and exceptional, with magnets in the doors for the perfect closing action. I work in fabrication shops for a living and could not find one flaw, cosmetic or other. One concern I had about any metal enclosures is vibration and resonance with audio. As my television was going to be resting on it with a sound bar, I was reassured that there would be no issues but the fabricator was kind enough to send rubber mounts for my soundbar just-in-case. Turns out that my handwringing was for naught. The gage of the steel and construction is heavy enough that it is not an issue.

For the home designers, the steel is a neutral grey but the attributes/accents from being cold-rolled cause the color to be in the cool grey pallet.

For the housekeepers, while the design is intricate, the actual surfaces that would need dusting are simple and easily accessed in one swipe.

For the technosexuals, the unit has one eggress wire cable hole in the back of each cabinet. That hole is placed slightly below the one shelf that resides in each cabinet. Access to this eggress grommet hole is capable from the top shelf through additional grommet holes in the top shelf that lead to the lower space. This may limit the depth of your wired equipment... so if you plan on stacking or storing actively powered components take this into consideration.

In this day and age, I am always being disappointed. This was one of those rare times when I was giddy with the quality and value received. Don't hesitate...

Thanks William! Its great to hear and share such great feedback! Feel free to share a photo too and let us know if you need anything else. Thanks!
